Leaving the game

I’ve decided to leave the game and work on a startup website :)

Making gold IRL FTW!

I’ll be leaving this site up as a tool for the community as long as it pays for itself. So please check out the sponsors to help pay for hosting/domain costs.

Cheers
Cameron

Remember to take advantage of the 24hr down time

Before the 24hr down time tomorrow, make sure you place as many bids you can on cheap goods.
The auction house does not pause when the realms come down.

Pretty glad I had stocked up a few thousand Ink of the Sea

These prices are crazy.

How I make 15k per week with glyphs

I love the glyph market.

This is my setup:

Mill thousands of herbs while watching movies, tv, or podcasts.
Turn into Ink of the Sea while I’m AFK (can take 40mins at a time)
Send all Snowfall Ink to main banker to sell and cover costs of herbs
Keep 15 of each glyph in stock
Send glyphs to three glyph bankers (each banker has a few classes)
Post 2 of each glyph (48hrs, 3g min + 28g fallback using QA3)
Never cancel glyphs
Log onto three glyph bankers a few times per day to repost undercut or sold glyphs
Don’t worry about what other people are doing, if you know every glyph you will still make gold
If you don’t have much time, increase your min to 4 – 5g
???
Profit

For this business to work, you need to know every glyph. This will take a few months to establish.
You also need lots of free time. I have dual monitors, so milling while watching something else is easy.

I have a new website – Dramatize.org

In non-wow related news, I have launched my new site Dramatize.org.

Dramatize will have two parts. The first are original articles on design, society and culture. The second part is a curated section of the best bits from around the web.

If it looks like something you are interested in, please subscribe and send out a tweet to let your friends know :)

One last thing, what do you think of me replacing the ad on the front page with a box with the latest Dramatize links? (Like one of the gold blogs – but make it clear it’s not a gold blog)

Thanks for all the loyal support, if there is anything I can do to make this website better just let me know :)
I’ll be adding more new gold blogs as soon as I get some free time.

Cheers

Do you sell glyphs? You need to read this..

You may have seen from my other post that I’m stocking up on Ink of the Sea. The main reason for this is I didn’t want to have to mill herbs when Cata comes out. The second reason is the supply of Northrend herbs will decrease with less people herbing in the area, driving up the price of herbs.

I think it’s safe to guess the new herbs from Cata will produce a new normal and rare ink. The rare ink will be used to create new cards and epics.

While collecting the proceeds of my Snowfall Ink sales I had a thought.

What’s going to happen to the price of Snowfall Ink once Cata comes out?

Right now the sale of Snowfall covers all the cost of buying the herbs. Will the price of Snowfall drop if people no longer want the lower level greatness cards and offhands?

The good thing about buying, milling and creating a stockpile of Ink of the Sea now is I am able to sell all my Snowfall for a reasonable profit. The only risk would be an opportunity cost if the price of Snowfall went up for some reason.

What do you think? My plan is to have 10,000 – 20,000 Ink of the Sea in the bank.

What items to stockpile for Cataclysm

Wondering what items to stockpile for Cataclysm?

When Cata hits, it’s much better for you to have 1000g worth of common items rather than 1000g of gold.
Why? Because with inflation (which has happened every patch) the value of the goods will more than double, yet your 1000g gold will only be worth ~500g.

Here is a list of items I am buying up now:

[Name - how many I have]

Briarthorn (180)
Goldthorn (117)
Wild Steelbloom (233)
Sungrass (210)
Purple Lotus (180)
Arthas’ Tears (40)
Golden Sansam (240)
Mountain Silversage (160)
Talandra’s Rose (400)
Goldclover (600)
Tiger Lily (750)
Saronite Bar (180)
Saronite Ore (1400)
Heavy Stone (800)
Truesilver Ore (40)
Mageweave Cloth
Mithril Ore (800)
Thorium Ore (4800) – I’ll prospect for leveling gems later
Bolt of Netherweave (3700) – ready to make bags
Adamantite Ore – (1000)
Cobalt Ore (300)
Saronite Ore (1400)
Eternal Earth (2000) – use to make infinite dust
Wool Cloth (700)
Frostweave Cloth
Shadowgem
Moss Agate
Citrine
Aquamarine (50)
Star Ruby (50)
Large Opal (400)

Site Update + Calling all new blogs

Hey guys. First up, it’s time to update the blogs on the front page.

What blogs do you like? What blogs should I take down? What blogs should I add?

Second, what’s the best way for me to pay for hosting/domain costs? I really hate having a gold farmer ad on the site, but that’s what Google is feeding me. Is it wrong to encourage people to click their ad just to make them pay for their wicked ways?

Let me know what would make the site better for you.

Cheers :)

New Gold Blogs Added

Welcome to the new gold blogs!

I need an easy way to pay for hosting/domain costs. Should I stick a few google ads up like there is currently, or should I place a
PayPal donate button for people to donate $1 or so?

Please let me know if I have missed any blogs and I’ll get them listed :)

Cheers
